Meet every World's Ugliest Dog Contest winner since 2002
Just a little something to get you in the mood for National Dog Day on Monday.
2002 winner: Rascal

2003-2005 winner: Sam

Sam, officially named Lil' Sam according to the Sonoma-Marin Fair website, won three years in a row. Sam has a hairless body, crooked teeth and a sparse tuft of hair atop his knobby head. He died just short of his 15th birthday on Friday, Nov. 18, 2005, according to his owner, Susie Lockheed.
2006 winner: Archie

Archie won big in 2006 after a strange voting scandal rocked the contest.
2007 winner: Elwood

2008 winner: Gus

Gus, a one-eyed, three-legged pedigree Chinese Crested from St. Petersburg, Florida, won in 2008. Gus died later that year on Nov. 10, 2008. He was 9.
2009 winner: Pabst

Pabst, a toothy 4-year-old Boxer mix, won the 2009 contest. Pabst competed again in later contests but didn't hang onto the title.
2010 winner: Princess Abby

Princess Abby is a purebred chihuahua owned by Kathleen Francis, of Clearlake, California.
2011 winner: Yoda

Yoda is a Chinese Crested and Chihuahua mix who was 14 years old at the time of the 2011 contest.
2012 winner: Mugly

Mugly is a Chinese crested dog owned by Bev Nicholson of Peterborough, England.
2013 winner: Walle

Four-year-old beagle, boxer and basset hound mix Walle won top honors in 2013. Walle is shown here "dancing" at the Sonoma-Marin Fair.
2014 winner: Peanut

Peanut is a mutt from North Carolina who was two years old at the time of winning the World's Ugliest Dog Contest in 2014.
2015 winner: Quasi Modo

Quasi Modo had also participated in the 2014 contest, but she wasn't quite as successful that year. The crowd seemed so interested in her though, according to the Guardian, that her owners decided to make the trip from Florida to compete for a second year. This time it paid off.
2016 winner: SweePee Rambo

SweePee Rambo, a 17-year-old Chinese Crested Chihuahua, won the World's Ugliest Dog Contest in 2016.
2017 winner: Martha

2018 winner: ZsaZsa
